1980–1991 Baseball Card Hot Auctions

These years include the heart of the junk wax era, when cards were printed in huge numbers. Common cards are plentiful, so the market centers on key rookies in top condition: the 1989 Upper Deck Ken Griffey Jr. #1, the 1982 Topps Traded Cal Ripken Jr., the 1980 Topps Rickey Henderson, the 1985 Topps Mark McGwire and the 1987 Fleer Barry Bonds.

Because raw copies are everywhere, grade matters more here than in almost any other era. A PSA 10 can sell for many times a PSA 9. Check centering, corners and surface closely in listing photos before bidding on raw cards.
